The Department of Art as Applied to Medicine is pleased to announce that the art of alumnus Neil O. Hardy will be on exhibit during the month of October at the Weston Public Library in Weston, CT.
A Johns Hopkins grad of ’58 known for his pen & ink style, Mr. Hardy went on to a distinguished career in medical illustration: AMI President (1982-3); recipient of the Ranice Crosby Distinguished Achievement Award (1991), the Lifetime Achievement Award (1997), and the Brödel Award for Excellence in Education (2003). Neil illustrated A Guided Tour of the Living Cell by Christian de Duve, published by Scientific American, as well as decades of didactic illustrations for books and medical magazines.
Neil also is former faculty in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine teaching Business Policy for the Medical Illustrator from 1985-2003.
The exhibition is up and runs through October with an Opening Reception Sunday, October 11, 2015, 2:30 to 4:00 PM. Congratulations Neil on a lifetime of art on display!
