The Joseph M. Dieter, Jr., Scholarship for Creative Design Excellence recognizes a second-year graduate student or students in the Medical and Biological Illustration graduate program who have demonstrated innovative excellence and outstanding creative use of design in their graduate coursework. This endowed scholarship has been established through the extraordinary generosity of the Department’s beloved and talented graphic designer, Joe Dieter. This scholarship honors the creative excellence and superb design practiced by Joseph M. Dieter, Jr. during his 44 years (1970 – 2014) as an artist in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine.
