We are delighted to announce that Art as Applied to Medicine faculty member and Director of Operations Lydia Gregg is the winner of the prestigious 2026 Graduate Student Teaching Award!
As the winner of this award, Lydia was recognized during the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (JHSOM) Convocation. She also had the honor of assisting individual mentors as they hooded graduates and leading the recitation of the Scientist’s Oath.
Lydia is extremely honored to have been nominated by graduate students in Art as Applied to Medicine. Voting for the award then took place among the entire Johns Hopkins School of Medicine graduate student body, consisting of more than 1,000 students. “The Graduate Student Teaching Award, established in 1986 by the [JHSOM] Graduate Student Association (GSA), recognizes excellence in teaching and mentoring at the graduate level in the biomedical sciences. This is the highest honor awarded to a School of Medicine faculty member for graduate student teaching and mentoring. The winner of this award is recognized at the annual School of Medicine Convocation. Finalists for this award are selected by the GSA to carry out prestigious positions at the ceremony, including being a marshal, helping hood graduate candidates, and/or leading the recitation of the Scientist’s Oath.”
