Jeffrey H. Day, MD, MA, will join the fulltime faculty of the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine on August, 21, 2019. Jeff has accepted an appointment as an Instructor and will apply his expertise in communicating scientific information in an accessible manner. Jeff will add a unique dimension to our outstanding faculty as trends in health and science education media continue to move toward clear, theory-driven animated narratives.
Jeff is a talented artist who earned degrees in Biology and Medicine from Case Western Reserve University prior to graduating with a Master of Arts in Medical Illustration from our Department of Art as Applied to Medicine in 2015. Since his graduation from our program, Jeff has worked at the National Library of Medicine creating award-winning “explainer animations” and multimedia prototypes to improve the online presence of MedlinePlus. Examples of his work are available at jeffdayart.com.
Jeff has received many noteworthy scholarships and awards including the Alan Cole Scholarship from the Vesalius Trust, the Frank H. Netter MD Memorial Scholarship in Medical Art, and multiple salon awards from the Association of Medical Illustrators, including the Member’s Choice Award in New Media.
