As an invited guest of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Hopkins, our alumna Joanne Haderer Müller, MA, CMI, FAMI (JHU ’00) gave the Riley Visiting Professor Lecture on October 24, 2024. Joanne is the Director of Creative Media at Harvard Medical School.
In her talk titled “Medical Illustration: More than Meets the Eye,” she presented the evolution of medical illustration, the current state of our art, and described her direction of teams creating multimedia content for online education. She also designed and delivered an informal workshop for the orthopaedic surgery residents.
For our second-year students, Joanne shared her perspectives on what she looks for when interviewing, reviewing a portfolio, and what she values in colleagues.
It was wonderful to have Joanne back on campus!
