The illustration work of faculty member, Lydia Gregg, is featured on the Oct. 30th, 2020 cover of Science Advances.

The piece depicts a microdevice called a “therapeutic gripper” that digs into the mucosal tissue of the intestinal tract in response to body heat or other cues to promote extended drug delivery. Lydia worked with Drs. Arijit Ghosh, David Gracias, and Florin Selaru to create the piece.

She used Cinema 4D and Adobe Photoshop for rendering. The full article describing the device is available online at this link: https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/44/eabb4133
