Many professional societies are increasingly turning to an online meeting format to address COVID related restrictions on in-person professional meeting activities. Recently Juan R. Garcia, MA, Certified Clinical Anaplastologist and Associate Professor Faculty at the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine & Otolaryngology has been asked to provide several such lectures. On May 27, 2020 as part of the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Medical Virtual Summit event sponsored by the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers (ASME), Juan participated in a panel discussion titled “What Can Be Printed at the Point of Care”. On September 24, 2020 he recorded a lecture titled “Use of 3D Scanning and Printing in the Clinical Anaplastology Workflow”  for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. On September 28, 2020 he also co-presented in a webinar hosted by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 3D Printing Special Interest Group (3DP SIG) titled “Utilizing 3D Printing, Mold Making, and Casting for Medical Applications”. Next year he has been asked to present online and in person (hopefully!) to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Postgraduate Prosthodontic Residency Program on the topic of anaplastology (facial, ocular, and body prosthetics) clinical work done for patients at Hopkins. Congratulations to Juan for representing Hopkins and our department during all these educational presentations!
