With the start of our new academic year, Juan García, Associate Professor and Director of the Clinical Anaplastology Training Program and Anaplastology Clinic, recently welcomed two new Trainees, Nicole Alderson (pictured on left) and Sarah Contreras (pictured on right). Nicole comes to us from Indiana University, with a background as a staff medical artist in the School of Dentistry. Sarah comes from California and has done extensive study in film makeup and special effects. They are excited to begin their course of training which will extend until May 20, 2022.

Our Department has been busy this past year developing a proposal for a 2-year Master of Arts program in Clinical Anaplastology, which was recently approved by the University School of Medicine. We will be seeking state approval for such a program in the coming months. As part of this initiative, Juan was recently joint appointed in the Departments of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and will soon be collaborating with a new faculty member in Clinical Anaplastology. Further information on the job posting can be found here.

We look forward to sharing more exciting news as our plans for the Clinical Anaplastology program are further developed.
