The 2025 AMI meeting in Grand Rapids, MI was yet another memorable and inspiring event.

This month, Associate Professor Jennifer Fairman began her term as President of the AMI. Here are some words she shared during the Passing of the Gavel:

“As I begin my term as President of the Association of Medical Illustrators I’ll reshare my thoughts from our adjournment:

At every AMI meeting I walk away with a feeling of a reenergizing theme. For me, that theme is “courage”. During the LAA presentation, seeing Ranice Crosby’s handwriting reminded me of the early pioneers who created this extraordinary association. Stepping into any leadership role takes courage. Becoming the next president of the AMI… there are no English words I can use to express my gratitude for your confidence in me to represent and serve you… indeed, as Ranice had written for Anne, to me, this is the highest honor of my life. I wholeheartedly look forward to the conversations, challenges and opportunities ahead. I am here because of you, and I am here for you. Know you can always reach out to me, and the Board with any issues or ideas. But as a reminder, our committees and volunteers are the life blood of this association, so I would encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to serve, in any capacity, this amazing community. The return on investment is immeasurable.”

Jeni also took on the role of presenting Kip Carter with the Max Brödel Award for Excellence in Education.
