Course Description
Objectives
Prepare the best presentation of artwork in the graduate exhibition, in self-promotional materials, on the web, and for the job interview.
Practice principles of positive interviewing, effective negotiation, and correspondence in the professional setting, including full time positions and freelance contracts. Understand the principles of fair pricing and strong marketing skills.
- Update resume, digital portfolio, demo reel, and print portfolio for interview.
- Polish application and interviewing skills.
- Understand the employment marketplace for medical illustrators.
- Be able to negotiate salary and fair price and usage (copyright) for artwork.
- Podium presentation of thesis research.
- Master clear articulation of the purpose and value of medical illustration.
- Design ad produced class graduate exhibition as a team effort.

- Print and online portfolio review with faculty and guest lecturers
