The Association of Medical Illustrators is holding a 2020 Webinar series in lieu of an in-person meeting this year.
 
Lydia Gregg, Associate Professor in our Department, and Mark Schornak of the Barrow Neurological Institute are Co-Chairing this unique event. Presentations and Sessions involving Alumni of our graduate program include:
  • Embracing Human Variation: Tools for Painting Compelling Brown Skin Tones and Diverse Facial Features, by alum Hillary Wilson
  • Getting started with Tableau Desktop for data visualization, by Jeff Day, Assistant Professor in our Department
  • Medical Illustration & Paleoanthropology: Visualizing the evolution of the human vestibular system, by alum Christopher Smith
  • The Roundtable Session, a social event organized by Jill Gregory and alumnus Virginia Ferrante-Iqbal
  • The Mentorship Mixer, a special event for mentors and mentees to discuss current issues, organized by Jennifer Fairman, Associate Professor in our Department. Ms. Fairman is also building this year’s Online Salon which will showcase award-winning medical illustration, animation and interactives from across the globe.
Numerous additional department alumni are participating in the organization of this event. The series presents a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the field and the interface between science, medicine, and visual communication. The program team has developed a variety of additional topical sessions and social events to provide an opportunity to learn and network.
