Congratulations to Noelle Burgess (class of 2020), Deborah Schwengel, MD MEHP (Thesis Preceptor), and Juan Garcia (Department Faculty Advisor). As part of ongoing efforts related to Noelle’s MA Thesis Project, the research team she collaborated with was recently awarded a StAAR (JHH Stimulating and Advancing ACCM Research) Investigator Award of $47,760.00.
Noelle’s thesis centered around developing a game-based modality to practice preparedness for Mass Casualty Incidences (MCIs). Deborah Schwengel, MD, MEHP is the principle investigator for the grant titled “Development and assessment of a game-based learning tool for in-hospital interprofessional disaster preparedness and response.” Funds will be used primarily for continued development of a complimentary online version to the game board previously developed as part of Noelle’s thesis.
