Eleanor Bailey

eleanorBaileyPortraitEleanor spent her childhood amongst the foothills of the Cascades in Carnation, Washington. As the middle of five children, Ellie was surrounded by a team who encouraged her artistic and scholastic ambitions. Her creativity has always bridged her interests, most notably in the kitchen, and her friends and classmates appreciate her passion for edible art. Ellie’s adventurous spirit led her across the country to Starkville, Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from Mississippi State University. It was here that a professor introduced her to the field of medical illustration. Her background in art lent to a unique perspective while learning biology and has resulted in Ellie’s passion for innovative communication in teaching. In 2015, Ellie began her latest adventure in Baltimore, Maryland at the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine at Johns Hopkins. She will receive her Master of Arts degree in Medical and Biological Illustration in May 2017.

In the future, Ellie would like to tackle the art of patient education, and someday open a medical themed bakery.
